The entire research facility is shut down and guards rush to stop her. Armed with machine guns, a dozen guards unload their rounds on this girl, none of them hits her. American McGee Alice by Rex (1st draft, incomplete)

Prologue
Two years after the adventure of Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, Alice’s family was killed in a fire accident as she was the only survivor. She was arrested by the police as they suspects Alice is the prime suspect of the incident. The police starting to interrogate her intensely for several hours shortly after the arrest, but she remained silent throughout the interrogation. Unfortunately, the detective who is in charge with the investigation, Edward Atlas, find it difficult to believe her non involvement in the accident. Furthermore, he have discovered that Alice takes drugs for her long suffering schizophrenia; she also attempts to suicide during her time in the police cell room by cutting her own wrist with a piece of sharp metal she stole from a cellmate earlier. Therefore Atlas has no other choice but to hospitalise her in Rutledge asylum.

For five months in the Rutledge asylum, Alice has been treated in ways that can only be described as horrified; she gets her electric shock treatment every morning for two hours, followed by a six hours of solitary locked down completely with her hands tied up and blind folded to prevent her from trying to kill herself again.

At this stage, the staffs in Rutledge asylum as well as the police have listed Alice as an extremely dangerous person as she is emotionally and mentally unstable, not only she attempts to kill herself, but to kill anyone that is in contact with her. As for Alice herself, she is no longer the little charming and naive girl people previously known, her heart is now fully filled with vengeance and hatred towards the people who put her in this place. Moreover, she is now quick with knife plus all too eager to learn how to spread destruction as well as slay those who get in her way. But first thing is first, Alice needs to get out of Rutledge asylum alive!

Luckily for Alice, one of the security guard in the asylum called Thomas Spycer is obsessed with Alice’s physical appearance, and he is prepared to do anything to have sexual relationship with her. Unfortunately, Alice is fully aware of Spycer’s obsession towards her. In the following night, she seduced Spycer after he escorted Alice back to her cell room, with Spycer half-naked and his security equipments (including the stun gun) put aside, Alice strangled Spycer to death with her handcuff while he’s off guard. She slowly but carefully pushes the body off the bed, she then reaches for the key chain Spycer putted on the table beside the bed earlier and unlocked herself from the handcuff then head out the cell room. It is now twelve o’clock in midnight, the corridor is pitch black, with the darkness covering Alice’s movement, she arrives at the end of the corridor. Alice uses the key obtained from Spycer to unlock the door in front of her, which reveals a kitchen.

The kitchen is filled with insects crawling around on leftovers, a strong smell of rotten food in the air as well as raw meats scattered all over the table with blood dripping from the meats. But something has catch Alice’s attention, it is very large kitchen knife covered in blood, placed in the centre of the kitchen table. She move towards the table and pick up her first “weapon”, she then hears a familiar voice from behind.

Chapter One: Welcome to Wonderland
‘Your knife is sufficient but not always necessary, reject only when you must, and you may survive!”
Alice immediately turns around, and sees her old “companion”, the Cheshire Cat, sitting on the kitchen oven, with a grin on its face.
“Well, you certainly have changed quite a lot, cat.” said Alice.
“And you look a little bit out of shape too; I see you’ve been living quite a fascinating life in this place, enjoying your stay in Rutledge asylum?” the Cat reply.
“You won’t be pleased when you see how they are treating me here everyday. Alright, enough about this place, are you here to guide me to safety?” Alice asked.
“Unfortunately I am no tour guide my dear, especially when it comes to Rutledge asylum. However I do have a message from your old friend White Rabbit, as he would like you to return to Wonderland, and let me also remind you that you do need to make up your mind quickly as you don’t have a lot of time.” The Cat said.
“I don’t have a lot of time?” Alice asked.
Suddenly the alarms sounded. “Attention! We have an inmate on the run! Prisoner number 658300, white female, she is extremely dangerous! Use of deadly force is authorised!”
Alice can hear foot steps running outside the kitchen.
“Oh dear, that doesn’t sound too pleasant. So Alice my dear, if you decided to return to Wonderland, just head through the black door on your left. But if you choose otherwise, well then, I hope you enjoy the food they provide here in Rutledge asylum.” The Cat smiled, and then disappears.
With the sound of foot steps outside of the kitchen getting closer, Alice has no other choice but to enter the black door. She quickly approaches and opens the black door, but unable to see anything as red fogs inside the black door prevent her from seeing any further, and then she closes the door without second thoughts. However, as soon as Alice close the door, she is beginning to feel really painful with her whole body, almost like being shot by a thousand nails from a nail gun.
“Ahhhhhhhh!!!……..this pain is excruciating !!!! Make it stop!!!!” Alice cried out.
She eventually passed out due to the extreme pain………

After a while, Alice slowly wakes up and becomes conscious, she looks around, and realise she is now in Wonderland. Only this time Wonderland is completely different compares with her previous visit here. The sky is covered by crimson clouds, rivers and lakes are filled with blood, human and animals nailed on a cross upside down with skin partly ripped off with organs clearly visible, ‘man’ with mechanic arms and little girl’s legs walking around the lakes.
“Please do hurry Alice, we are very late indeed!” The White Rabbit yelled.

The Otak of the earth sea by Maho Week8 Formative

Chapter one Emerald eyes
It is dark. It is raining. The thunder was lightening. The sky was dark gray. A huge forest is in silence. The animals and the beasts are all at their nests. All of sudden, a big leaf of a tree moved and there is a little beast, smaller than a cat, looked up the sky. It has a broad face with dark brown hair. His bright dark eyes blinked. He jumped off from the tree, and began to run. Then, there was a wolf, glaring at the tiny beast, coming after him. The little beast run and run, to get away from the vicious beast. Their chase continued and the wolf jumped over his target. Both of them stopped. The wolf growled and his target shrank back. When the wolf almost made his move, he noticed that the eyes of the little beast began to shine. It was a color of emerald. A clap of thunder broke above them. Then, the rain stopped. There were no sounds. The little beast blinked with his dark eyes. The wolf was nowhere to be seen. He climbed up to the top of the tree, and sat on a thick branch. The clouds faded away and there was a full moon. The little beast looked up at the huge moon for a long time. A color of emerald shone in the bottom of his dark eyes. He sat there for a while and went down from the tree. He looked around the quiet forest. Rabbits appeared from behind the tree. They saw him and paused by fear, but the little brown beast didn’t show any interests in them. He looked at the dark forest by his pure dark eyes. He began to run, and disappeared into the darkness.

Chapter two Threads

There is an isolated island of Roke. It is a small island with beautiful plants and trees. People had peaceful lives. There were ordinary people, such as fishermen, bakeries at potters who are all hard workers. However, from the view of a huge tall building with big chimney on the hill, it was obvious that it is not only an ordinary island. The building is a Warder of the school on Roke. It is a school for wizards. People often see and hear things such as dark clouds, thunders and rainbow within the school property, imagining pictures of future well known wizards. People had respects and also fear towards sorcerers. Therefore, no one had tried to get close to it.

A fisherman who was putting his fishes on the display saw a boat that is coming close to the port. There was a young boy with dark hair and dark eyes on it. From the moment he saw the boy, he knew that, the boy is not an ordinary creature at all. The boy landed on the port and looked around. Eventually, he noticed the huge building with chimney on. “That’s where you are heading, young boy”. The boy turned around and stared at him. “How do you know that, Sir?” The fisherman answered without stopping his hands. “I just know it. Just keep going until you see the huge entrance to the forest. Then you’ll know which direction you have to take” The boy answered politely. “Thank you, sir”. When the fisherman stopped his hands and turn back, he couldn’t even see the back of the young boy.

There were tow more eyes, who witnessed the arrival of the young sorcerer. From the long way from the port, on the top of the hill, there was one small creature, who survived the attack of the wolf on the night before. He has a sleek dark brown hair with big long ears and fluffy tail. The tiny beast is called Otak. They are extremely rare creatures, which live only in small area of the South, Wathrot. In despite of their prettiness, they are known to be savage. The Otak followed movements of the young boy. Although it was impossible to catch a glimpse of someone from such great distance, Otak stared at the young wizard. Then again, there were small, mysterious emerald shines in deep inside of his eyes. He kept observing the wizard for a while, and then the shine in his eyes disappeared. He began to run down the hill.

Chapter Three (unnamed)

The day turned into the night. The town was dark and quite. The school of wizards is looking down the dark town. The tiny beast, Otak jumped out from nowhere, and sat in front of the huge wood door. The door swung open and there was a extremely tall old guy with white hair and white beard. He looked at the Otak. Although he was quite surprised by this unexpected tiny guest, he laughed. ‘’Well well, hello Otak! This is an entrance for the school for wizards and I am a doorkeeper. Enter if you can’’. The Otak looked back at him with its dark eyes. As the doorkeeper keeps his eyes on Otak, he noticed bright emerald shines in eyes of the little beast. The doorkeeper smiled softly at the Otak. ‘’Now, you can come in, can’t you?’’ The Otak quietly entered into the school property. He looked up at the doorkeeper with his dark eyes as to say ‘’Thank you’’. The doorkeeper grinned at him. ‘’Once you enter, it’s up to you where to go.’’ He raised his hand to indicate an alley. The Otak began to walk towards the school building. The doorkeeper looked at the tiny back of the little beast and whispered to himself. ‘’I’ve seen bunch of Otaks before, but that one…his power…’’. Then he closed the huge wood door.

Spirited Away - Pear Jin

The faint cool touch remained on her cheek as she opened her eyes. Then it was gone, along with any remnant of the dream; the same dream she had had every night for the last ten years but could never remember. She felt empty, as she did every morning. A piece of herself was gone and it was gnawing at her inside to remember what. Chihiro sighed and rolled out of bed, scrambling in the pre-dawn light to find her running shoes. She stumbled into her bathroom and glared at the mirror. A slender young woman glared back with dark eyes, pale skin and brown hair that hung just below her shoulders, rumpled with sleep. She sighed again and ran a brush quickly through it before reaching for her hair tie. She paused as she did every morning. The hair tie was her most prized possession, even though she didn’t know why. She had had it for some time, but she could never pinpoint where or when she had gotten it. She viewed it as a lucky charm, but was growing more tempted with each day to throw it away. It was purple and sparkly, fine for a young girl, but not for a twenty-year-old woman. In the end, something inside always stayed her hand and she pulled her hair up with it.

She pulled on a light jacket and slipped out of her apartment into the chilly world. Mist was hanging thick and icy around her. She zipped her jacket a little more and began her daily ritual. She couldn’t say what it was that drew her, but it happened every day. After waking up, she felt the only way to feel normal was to go to that place. It was two miles from her apartment, but there was nothing that could stop her from going. She jogged a short way, then stretched the last traces of sleep from her muscles. She made her way past the tightly packed houses, out onto nearly deserted highway, then turned left on a dirt trail through the woods. She couldn’t make much out through the heavy fog, but she knew everything here so well she didn’t need her eyes. In her childhood, she had named every single one of the little spirit houses that lined the trail. She would leave food there for them, and the next day the food would always be gone. She had thought it was the spirits until she caught a squirrel making off with a piece of bread. Chihiro smiled lightly to herself and picked up the pace. She began breathing heavy as she ran up the steep hill. She was just beginning to taste blood when the trail ended and looming in front of her was a giant plaster building. Chihiro forced her breathing to steady and stepped up to the tunnel. She had only been on the other side once, and that’s where the veil across her memory began. She couldn’t remember what was on the other side of the black tunnel. Chihiro stood and stared at the building, watching as the sun began peeking over the mountains and cast the plaster face in hues of pink and orange while also dispelling the mist. Then without a backwards glance, she turned and jogged back down the hill.

“Helloooo there.” A deep voice growled and a strong arm wrapped around Chihiro’s waist.

“And hello back.” Chihiro said with a faint smile. Other than that she pretended to ignore the owner of the arm as she sifted through order forms.

“That’s not a very friendly greeting!” the voice murmured. Chihiro turned and kissed the owner of the voice and arms quickly before turning back to her work.

“Is that it?”

“Yes, Taka, now if you don’t mind, I really need to get back to work.” She said in annoyance and shoved the arms away.

“I’m sorry!” Taka said, putting his hands up defensively. Chihiro sighed and swiped her bangs out of her eyes.

“No, I’m sorry. You know how I handle mornings, and this one is a busy one. I promise I’ll give you a good ‘hello’ at lunch or something.” Chihiro said.

I’m holding you to that.” Taka said.

“I’m sure you are.” Chihiro said, slapping him playfully on the butt as he eased past her to get out the door. He gave her one last dazzling smile before disappearing from view. Chihiro smiled to herself, but it soon left as she stared down at the papers before her. Orders for oils and repair bills littered her small desk along with time cards for employees that needed logging and receipts that needed filing. Such was the workload for the young apprentice of the Shokobitsu Spa and Bathhouse. She could want nothing else. She couldn’t explain why she had been drawn to this place, but she fell into the work easily and now hoped someday to start a business of her own. Plus the workload didn’t seem so bad since she was dating the best masseuse on staff, meaning free massages on the most stressful of days. Chihiro grinned to herself at the thought of Taka. They had been dating for nearly a year now. He had told her he loved her, but she had never been able to say it back. When she thought about it she realized that while she cared about him deeply, she couldn’t tell for sure if it was love. She then tried to name what was pushing her away from him. He was friendly, funny, good looking and smart. Everything a girl could want. But there was something about him that just seemed too…young. This made absolutely no sense though because he was five years older than her. You’re just finding excuses not to get close! She scolded herself, Stop it now Chi, before you push him away all together!

Chihiro heaved a frustrated sigh and grabbed her clipboard. First were the rounds of the kitchen to get the grocery list, then to gather up any complaints and calm down the various ill-tempered that seemed to frequent the area. Normally she wouldn’t handle so much of the responsibility, but the owner of the spa was on vacation, believing Chihiro completely capable of handling everything for a week and a half. Chihiro had felt honored at the responsibility, but was glad they would be back tomorrow. The days had been filled with adventures which grew in calamity every hour.

Today’s newest adventure was an uproar made by mister Ganko. He nearly did harm to a wash girl claiming that she had tried to boil him to death in his bath. This ruckus took nearly three hours to sort out, finally ending when Chihiro offered him a free bath and massage with the assistance of any staff member he chose. This finally behind her, she sank once more into the darkened cell which was her office.

There were flowers everywhere, it was almost like a maze. She ran through the winding tunnel which never seemed to end, and the sweet smell of violets and roses wafted around her so thickly she felt as though she could walk on it.

“Chiiiiii! Chiiii!” A voice called softly.

“Chi. Wake up girl.” Chihiro opened her eyes and glanced at the hand on her shoulder.

“Mmm, how long was I out?” She asked, sitting up straight and rubbing her eyes.

“Well, I’ve been watching you for the last five minutes. You’re really pretty when you’re asleep.” Taka said with a small smile. Chihiro snorted at this as she wiped some drool from her ledger.

“Come on. It’s lunch time. Aren’t you going to say hello to me?” Taka asked, standing up and opening his arms. Chihiro smiled and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“Hello Taka. How are you doing today?” She said obediently.

“I’ve actually got a problem. My boss is about to collapse from exhaustion and it can’t be good for her. What should I do?”

“Hmm, some takoyaki would be good.”

“Takoyaki it is then…but first, come with me.” Taka took her hand and towed her behind him until they reached his small parlor. The entire thing was closed off from the rest of the building by a number of elaborately painted paper screens as was customary. The only difference was that this ‘room’ had a window. It was dark gray outside and the wind pelted large drops of rain against the glass.

“When did it start raining?” Chihiro asked.

“Mm, not too long ago.” Taka said, grabbing a towel and tossing it to her before leaving the room. Chihiro frowned at it, but then decided that there was no use arguing with him. She stripped out of her red Kimono which was more of a costume than an actual uniform. The room had a table in the center, then there was a table of massage oils and a stand with a small stereo. It was playing on of Chihiro’s favorite CD’s. She hummed softly with the sweet music and lay face down on the bed, draping the towel across her waist. Taka came in a few moments later and began bathing his hands in oils before setting himself to work pressing the knots out of her back. Chihiro groaned as his strong thumbs dug deep to loosen the tight muscles, bringing on a feeling between pain and pleasure. As the last of the knots eased, he began rubbing gently and Chihiro was able to relax. The smell of lavender and jasmine washed over her and her eyes began to droop. She felt as though she was floating, and everything swirled in a purple haze.

Chihiro was far away, she could tell that much for sure. The massage parlor was gone and she was standing on a bridge. A purple mist swirled beneath the bridge, giving the illusion that everything was floating. Chihiro could still hear music. She hummed and began to dance to the music, kicking up the fog with her bare feet. People would drift in and out, they were shadow people and they would dance for a moment before vanishing, only to reappear a moment later. Then a boy stood at the edge of the bridge. He was only twelve or thirteen. His face was thin and pale, a curtain of dark hair fell nearly to his shoulders and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. But Chihiro was captured by his eyes. They were eyes that were too old to be in a face so young. The boy stepped forward and held his hand out to Chihiro. She accepted it immediately, vaguely noticing that she was no longer a woman, but a young girl. The boy held her close and they began to waltz, staring into each other’s faces. Then the song ended. The boy took a step back and planted a light kiss on her forehead before everything was swallowed by the purple mist.

Taka kissed the back of Chihiro’s head softly. She sighed and propped her chin on her arms. She listened to the pattering of the rain against the window for a moment, trying to hold on to the images in her head. She failed and grudgingly opening her eyes. A little boy stared at her, his deathly pale face standing out against the darkness. Chihiro let out a small shriek and jumped, smacking the back of her head into Taka’s teeth as he leaned down to kiss her again. Chihiro glanced back at the window, but nothing was there. Ignoring the muffled swearings coming from Taka, she wrapped the towel tightly around her chest and dashed into the hallway, then to the back door. It was a lot colder out then it looked and the fresh air cleared any remnants of fuzz from her head. Ignoring the rain, Chihiro ran down the steps and across the soggy grass until she was just beneath Taka’s window. There were no signs of the boy. No bent blades of grass, nothing. The window itself was set up so high that Chihiro, standing at a modest five foot six, could barely peep through if she jumped.

“You’re losing your mind, Chi.” She muttered to herself.

“Chi! Are you alright?” Taka called from the doorway.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

“Get back in here! You’re getting soaked!” Chihiro was about to turn and do just that when she paused. She was a few feet away from the window now, and she could see it clearly; the rough circular mist on the glass from someone’s breath. Chihiro stared at it, watching it slowly fade away. A pair of warm hands settled on her shoulders causing her to jump. Taka frowned at her and nodded towards the door.

“Come on.” He wrapped his arm around her and led her back into the building.

“You’ve been working too hard, you are taking the rest of the day off. You are going to eat something, then you are going to take a bath. Then you are going to go home, I will buy pizza and we will snuggle on the couch watching a movie.”

He ignored any of Chihiro’s protest and gave instructions to the first girl dressed in blue that he saw to draw a bath. But in all reality, Chihiro was to mentally exhausted to put up much of a fight and a bath sounded wonderful.

Chihiro growled and yanked her hair out of it’s bun as she walked down the hallway to her apartment. She pulled her keys out of her bag and sorted through the chain to find the one to her door when she caught sight of something out the corner of her eye. A little boy was standing next to the window at the end of the hall. The setting sun illuminated the white of his clothes, making him seem to glow. Dark hair framed a thin, pale face and the eyes beneath the bangs held a sort of sharpness that didn’t fit with his youth.

“Can I help you?” Chihiro asked awkwardly.

“Ch-Chihiro?” The boy asked cautiously.

“Yes, that’s me. Are you lost?” The boy smiled and shook his head.

“Not anymore.” He murmured. Chihiro could barely hear him.

“Do I…Do I know you?” Chihiro asked.

“I had forgotten how quickly humans age.” The boy said, more to himself than to her.

“Um…excuse me?” The boy said nothing, but his body began to change.

It was like watching an age procession video in fast motion. His chest grew and thickened, his arms and legs went from thin and scrawny to lean with a slight definition of muscle and his cheekbones hardened. The boy was gone, and now there was a man of about twenty three. Chihiro couldn’t move. She thought vaguely to herself that she should unlock her door and get into her apartment quickly, but she couldn’t take her eyes away from this…person?

“Chihiro, it’s me…Haku.” He whispered, taking a few steps towards her.

Chihiro shrank against the door. The…man…Haku, hesitated, then reached out and placed his palm against her forehead. It was so cool. A calming feeling washed over Chihiro and then images came. Flashing behind her eyes so quickly she could barely make sense of them. Yet as she saw them, even the tiniest of details were completely apparent to her. Haku pulled his hand away from her forehead and watched her face closely. Chihiro was gasping, and tears streaked down her cheeks. She opened her eyes and stared up at him.

“Where have you been?” She sobbed and buried her face into neck.

Where have you been?” Chihiro sobbed into his neck.

“I’ve never really left you.” He murmured into her hair and held her close.

“I’ve visited you every night in your dreams.” Chihiro could remember her dreams now as well. And he was right. She could remember every night she had roamed through her mind with him at her side. Chihiro wrapped her arms a little tighter around his neck and they stood there, holding each other, neither daring to move for fear of becoming lost once more. Haku shifted his face a bit and kissed her hair, then rested his cheek against the top of her head. Chihiro felt his whole body tense. She looked up to find him staring down the hallway. She followed his gaze and saw Taka standing next to the staircase. A pizza box was in his hand and his whole body was quivering with rage.

“Taka!” she cried in alarm and quickly pulled away from Haku. Taka dropped the pizza and began storming down the stairs. Chihiro cursed under her breath and, after casting an apologetic glance at Haku, took off after him.

“Taka! Wait! It’s not what it looks like!” She called, taking the steps two at a time.

“Taka!” She managed to catch up with him on the next landing and grabbed his arm. He whirled around at her touch and glared at her. She could see tears glinting at the corners of his eyes. Without a word, he pulled a small box from his pocket and thrust it in her hands. Then he left. Chihiro watched him go, then with shaking hands opened the small box. A ring twinkled up at her. A single diamond set in a white gold band.

“Dammit.” She growled, wiping the remaining tears from her eyes. She ran a hand through her bangs and glanced back up the stairs. Haku was watching her with his lips pursed. Chihiro sighed and walked back up to him.

“Come on.” She said, nodding to her apartment door.

Neither of them spoke as Chihiro placed the pizza and ring on the counter and shifted through her kitchen, rearranging the papers on the counter nervously. Finally, she turned to Haku who had been watching her, his head slightly tilted to one side.

“What are you doing here?” She asked, unable to hide the waver in her voice. Haku sighed and sat down on the couch in the living room. Chihiro walked around the counter and sat in the chair across from him.

“I was sent to find you.” He said, fixing his gaze on his hands.

“Why?” She asked. Haku shifted in his seat and licked his lips nervously. “Haku, just tell me.” He nodded and took a deep breath.

“Yubaba is dying. She asks for you to come to the spirit world before…it happens. She guarantees that you will be able to leave at any time and there are no tricks. She just wants to speak to you.” Haku then seemed extremely interested in the fringe of a pillow.

“But…she’s a spirit! How can she be dying?” Chihiro asked.

“Spirits can die just as easily as humans. Don’t you remember what happened to me?” Chihiro nodded. She could still smell his blood on her hands.

“But…I guess the better way to explain it is that she’s beginning to fade. She’s a very old spirit and she won’t last much longer.” They sat in silence for a moment, then Chihiro stood up and began pacing nervously.

“So…what exactly does she want to see me about?” She asked.

“She wouldn’t tell me.” Haku said, shaking his head.

“I don’t know, Haku. I don’t trust Yubaba and you can hardly blame me for it.” Haku snorted at this.

“Besides, I’m settled here…I’m happy. And…this is a very big…weird…thing. I just don’t know if I can handle this.” Chihiro collapsed back into her chair and ran her palm across her forehead. She could feel an impending headache, as if someone had been pounding her head repeatedly.

“I give you my word that nothing will happen to you. Yubaba gives her word as well.” Haku said softly. Chihiro glanced up at him.

“You know, something seemed wrong out in the hall, and I just realized what it is.” Chihiro said. “Haku, do you remember your name?” Haku froze and stared at her, unblinking.

“Well do you?” She demanded.

“No. It was taken from me again, soon after you left.” He admitted.

“Then how do you expect me to trust Yubaba now?” Chihiro asked. Haku paused for a moment before answering.

“I don’t expect you to trust her. But I’d hoped that you would trust me.” He stood up and began walking towards the door. “Please think about it, Chihiro.”

“Call me Chi.”

“No. You’ll always be Chihiro to me.” He said with a soft smile. “I’ll call on you tomorrow night for your answer.” He opened the door and stepped through. Chihiro hesitated, then ran to the door and leaned out.

“Haku, wait!” She called after him. He paused and turned. Chihiro bit her lip before asking,

“Would you…would you like me to tell you your name?” Haku smiled and shook his head.

“Maybe later.” Then he was gone. Chihiro sighed and went back into the apartment. She opened the small box and gazed at the ring for a moment before burying her face into the couch and crying herself to sleep.

“Well, everything seems to be in order. Congratulations Chi, you’ve survived a week and a half of hell!” Daichi said, peering over the forms and receipts.

“Thanks Daichi.” Chihiro said, tilting her head in thanks to her boss. “And how was your vacation?”
“It was wonderful. I almost couldn’t pry the missus from the mini bar.” He said giving Chihiro a playful wink.

“And, before I forget, I got you a souvenir!” Daichi reached into a duffle bag beside his desk and sifted through various wrapped presents before taking one out and handing it to Chihiro. Chihiro smiled and began ripping away at the light blue wrapping paper. She pulled off the lid of the box and staring up at her through a layer of bubble wrap was a dragon figurine. It was as long and thin as a snake, it’s silver body glowed beneath markings of blue and green. It didn’t look exactly like Haku, but the sight of it brought all the events of the previous night right beneath her nose once more. She glanced up at Daichi who was watching her with an expectant smile. Chihiro smiled at him and swallowed back tears.

“Thank you! It’s beautiful.” She said honestly.

“I thought you’d like it! I don’t know why, but when I saw it I just knew I had to get it for you.” Chihro sniffed and smiled.

“Um…I should probably be getting back to work.” Chihiro said, trying to mask the strain in her voice. Daichi nodded and stood to escort her the three steps to the door. Chihiro paused and hugged him. “Thank you.”

“No, thank you!” Daichi said, patting her back gently. Chihiro pulled away, smiled and slipped through the door. She was halfway to her own office when she caught a flicker of blue. It wasn’t the pale blue worn by wash girls, it was the deep blue of the male workers. Chihiro turned the corner and sure enough, Taka was walking stiffly towards his parlor. His back was to her and his shoulders were taut beneath his vest. Chihiro only hesitated for a moment before going after him.

“Taka!” She called. Taka ignored her. Chihiro ran behind him and grabbed his arm roughly.

“Will you just talk to me?” She demanded. Taka yanked his arm out of her grasp easily.

“Fine, then just listen!” Chihiro said, practically jogging to keep up with his long strides.

“What you saw last night, it wasn’t what it looked like!”

“Oh? And just what did it look like?” Taka asked coldly.

“Don’t be like this! Nothing was going on between me and that guy! He was just a childhood friend that popped up out of the blue! I haven’t seen him since I was ten, so of course I’m going to be happy to see him!” Chihiro said, trying and failing to grab his arm again.

“Oh yes, the two of you looked very happy.” Taka growled.

“Taka! Knock it off! I can’t believe you would even think of me like this!” Chihiro said. Taka stopped and turned to her.

“What am I supposed to think of you exactly? You’re always so drawn back! It’s like you’re barely there sometimes! I’ve been trying, Chi! I’ve been trying really hard to get close to you because I love you! But you know what? You’ve never said that back to me! It’s as though you’re always keeping something held back! Like you have expectations for me that I’ll never reach! Do you know how frustrating that is? And then I find you last night in the arms of another man! What happened after I left, Chi? Tell me that!” Taka demanded, his voice raised and full of pain.

“I invited him into my apartment! Okay? Is that what you want to hear? He came into my apartment, we talked for about ten minutes and then he left! Holy shit! I must be a whore because I had another man in my apartment for TEN FUCKING MINUTES!” Chihiro yelled.

Then why? Why didn’t I see him leave the apartment building?” Taka hissed. Chihiro glared at him and shook her head. “And just what is so fucking important, that he had to come and talk to you for ten minutes about? What is so important for you to sacrifice us?” he asked.

“An old mentor of mine is dying.” Chihiro said, turning her back to him. “And the only one sacrificing us, is you.”

TAKE IT OUTSIDE WHY DON’T YOU? I’M A PAYING CUSTOMER!” Someone yelled from the other side of one of the steaming screens. Chihiro looked up and saw faces peering out at them curiously. She took the ring from her pocket and tossed it over her shoulder at Taka. Then she stomped to her office. A few minutes later, she wiped the remaining tears from her eyes, got her breathing under control and picked up her phone.

“Daichi. I’m going to need a few days off.” She said, lightly fingering the dragon sculpture

Sorry guys, I don't mean to go on and on and on with the story, but 1200 words are simply not enough for me to finish the story. >.<" I also apologize as this is a plot that's overused. But do review it, okay? You'd be my all time hero if you did! And if you feel the need to flame, eh, whatever, cause i appreciate oh-so-constructive feedbacks. ;)

live together, ever after!

A girl rode on a white wolf and walked in the forest; the moonlight blurred her beautiful face in a silver aura. The kodamas around her way were all shaking their heads and making voice “kata kata’ like a chorus spread across the forest. The girl came closer and closer, her mouth moved smoothly and said: “Ashitaka, you mean so much to me.”

Ashitaka stood beside an old tree with his best friend Yakul, he hugged the girl with his arms and said: “I'll always be near. Yakul and I will come and visit you...” The golden light came through the cloud which replaced the silver moonlight; both of them were bathed in it and hugged even tighter, Ashitaka fell a little bit itchy when the wind was blowing San’s hair and whisking his nose. Everything was beautiful and tender to him, the warm golden light; San’s smiling face, soft skin and the chorus of the kodamas.

Suddenly, the cloud moved and covered the light, the whole world fell into dark and cold. A blade’s sharp light blinked and stabbed straight to Ashitaka’s back. He pushed San away and held her wrist in order to stop her, then asked: “Why do you want to hurt me, San?”

“Because I can't forgive human for what they've done. They killed Moro and destroyed the forest.” The hate and suffering were shown in her eyes which fought with the love emotionally. Then she threw the knife to Ashitaka’s face the turned back into the dark.

Ashitaka warded off the knife and yelled: “San, come back, please don’t leave me, I love you so much!”

The cold water pours on Ashitaka’s face which woke him up. He jumps up and looks around, there is no forest around, instead the greenery covered the mountain and some tiny wild flowers bloomed on the ground with light colours. Yakul stands several yards away and concentrates on the grass eating. Monk Jikobou stands in front of Ashitaka with his weird smiling face and holds an empty ugly bowl in his hand. Now Ashitaka realises where the cold water came from.

“Um, what a romantic prince of last Emishi is there. Is it good with your daydream?” His incisor hole makes the sound weird, his red nose shakes following the mouth’s movement.

Ashitaka reels off his sword and points to Jikobou’s forehead, speaks with cut-throat voice: “How, How did you know that? Tell me who told you that? You’d better answer this question truly; otherwise I don’t mind to blood my sword.”

Jikobou picks his smile back and look at the sword with a strange face expression. Then he kneels down himself on the ground and begins to speaking in a smooth melody: “Prince of last Emishi, I am your servant who is always with the ageless strength named Jikobou, during 500 years my master and I travelled from east to west, crossed mountains and rivers in order to find the last Royal blood. And then I met you – the last prince of the Royal Emishi. Please forgive me for what I did before which may upset you and your friends. Please forgive the mistake which was made by the faithful follower of the Emishi relive fellowship.”

“What the hell are you talking about? And who are you?” Ashitaka draws his arm back and puts the sword into the sheath and looks at Jikobou with a wondering expression.

Jikobou slowly raises his head up and looks at Ashitaka’s eyes with sorrow, and then he raises his right hand up to Ashitaka and opens his palm. A light suddenly shines like a ray which blinds Ashitaka’s eyes; he closes his eyes and then opens them again to see what exactly it is? It is a purple blue crystal dagger necklace.

Ashitaka suddenly feels all the blood pumped up to his head and heart begins beating as fast as it could.

“What did you do to San? Where is she?” He feels his sound was shivering, he is afraid of that the answer will break his heart into pieces.

“Don’t worry, your highness, she is fine, I just picked it at that trouble night when night walker destroyed everything. However, I didn’t return it to her and carried it to compare with my master’s note because I had some question about it. Actually, I’ve seen it in that note before.” Jikobou speaks with a very respective voice. Meanwhile, he takes one piece of the white paper out of his bag and mates it under the dagger.

“So, what did you get from my sister’s dagger?” Ashitaka becomes even more confused but still keeps his hand tightly on his sword handle.

“Let me show you something magnificent.” Jikobou uses a sharp knife and cut his finger tip and drop his blood onto the dagger. The blood drop stays on the surface of the dagger which seems to be stuck on it.

“Now please drop your blood to it, your highness.” Jikobou requests Ashitaka loyally.

Ashitaka bites his finger then does the same thing as per Jikobou’s request.

Ashitaka’s blood also stays on the surface but slowly moves to the Jikobou’s blood drop. The blood merges quickly when they meet and are absorbed into the dagger.
Then the dagger shining with a blue burned light for a couple of minutes. When the light becomes weaker and weaker, some scripts appear on the mate paper. Jikobou picks the paper up and returns the dagger to Ashitaka.

“What is written on the paper?” Ashitaka asks.

“It’s our destiny, your highness.” Jikobou says with a shivering sound.

“Are you kidding? Our destiny? You must be crazy today.” Ashitaka turns back and begins walking back to the new iron town base which was rebuilt after the disaster. Yakul runs to him and follows.

“If you are not the last Emishi prince, you can leave. But if you are; this is the only chance to change your future with princess Mononoke.” Jikobou holds the paper tightly and watches Ashitaka’s back without breath, he is afraid that he will never turn back.

Ashitaka stops for a while and slowly turns back, after that he jumps a long distance and uses his finger pointing to Jikobou’s red mud nose: “How can I trust you, who do you think you are. All the mess were because of you”.

“Yes, I know that. That’s why I came back. Listen, I am the last Emishi wizard with the ageless strength. I know I did something really bad. But it was because I had an agreement with empire headmaster. That is I will kill the
Spirit of the forest, but the headmaster will help me to find last Emishi tribe and treat them respectively.” Jikobou does not look at Ashitaka when he speaks to him.
Ashitaka notices something slipped cross his face and dropped into the grass. They are tears; it made his face looked more ridiculous instead of sorrow.

“I was really tired to seek for your people, after my master died, I spent 20 years travelled everywhere of the country. Finally, the headmaster found me, so I think that his power may help me to find your highness more easily than my blind search.” Jikobou turns his face to Ashitaka.

“Also, have you seen something unusual recently? The power of the forest spirit is withering away. I know that was my fault. However, I am coming to remedy it. We don’ have too much time, we have be quick to transform his power to the new god. Otherwise, both you and he will die forever.” Jikobou hands the paper to Ashitaka when he is talking.

StarCraft Fan Fiction

Hi guys,

I had originally wanted to write a piece of fan fiction on Peter Pan and Steven Spielberg’s 1991 film sequel Hook. I entertained the idea for a couple of weeks but it didn’t work out for me. I couldn’t design a storyline that I am able to write about in a convincing way. I think the reason for this was at least partly because I am not British or American.

So with that put aside, I am now writing a piece of fan faction about Blizzard Entertainment’s extremely popular 1998 Sci-Fi Computer Game StarCraft.

I know at least Birdie in our group is also a great fan of this game, and I think that everyone here has at least heard of the game, if not played it excessively.

The game has an epic storyline, chronicling the important historical events of the exiled-from-earth Terrans, the insectoid Zerg, and the technologically-advanced and psionic Protoss. My FanFic begins at the time of Episode One, when the Terrans were first invaded by alien forces. I made up the character Mathew Cain, a naive young man born on the border-world colony of Mar Sara. He will be my main character as he unwittingly bears witness to the unfolding history of StarCraft, and the deeds of heroes and villains.

The following link is the Wikipedia article with a brief (too brief) summary of the main plot of StarCraft:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarCraft#Story
This site has the transcript for all the dialogues that occurred in the story:
http://www.sclegacy.com/encyclopedia/starcraft_story.php#E1

Here is the current draft of my FanFic:

(The above two screenshots are the work of Blizzard Entertainment. They have been modified using Photoshop, with changes in the text narration.)

“This is Mining Operations Central to Mathew Cain. Mathew Cain, do you copy.”

“Roger that, this is Mat here. I am currently in the process of my 83rd mining cycle.” Mathew had thought this was just another random status check from his overseer, but the next radio message surprised him.

“Well, I need you to abort that mining cycle, and get your butt back to the command center ASAP.”

Mathew’s coworkers all gave him a strange look. Not that they could actually see Mathew or Mathew them through their mining protection gear, fusion cutters, and the minerals they were handling. Mathew's the best worker on their team, not only is he the best at handling equipment, he was also the rare worker who is actually enthused at his job of mining minerals. Of all the workers, Mathew was the least likely candidate to have pissed off their boss.

Mathew parked his mining vehicle beside the command center, and went to his boss’s office to report as he was told.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard, but our new Magistrate has arrived. They are giving him a welcoming party aboard the orbiting space platform. They need someone who knows how to work some mining and construction equipment for a demonstration, and I’ve volunteered you to do it. Your shuttle up to the platform leaves in 5 minutes. You haven’t got time to take a shower, but be sure to get into a new jumpsuit and wash your face before you leave. And oh yes, you’ll get the full details on what’s going to happen at the equipment demonstration en route to orbit.”

“Yes, sir”

As the shuttle roared its way into orbit to dock with the space platform, Mathew looked at his PDA with a briefing for the upcoming equipment demonstration. Nothing to worry about, the demonstration includes nothing he hasn’t done at least 10 times before. And with any luck, he’ll get a chance to meet the important people from Tarsonis, the capital of the Terran Confederacy.

The demonstration began with the Magistrate’s personal Artificial Intelligence Advisor announcing the “T-280 Space Construction Vehicle is the cornerstone of our hostile-environment construction and resource gathering operations. In order to build a thriving colony, numerous SCVs are necessary.”

How amusing that such common sense on the outer-world colonies have to be explained to these Tarsonion officials, thought Mathew. Mathew had operated the T-280 SCV for months since he started working for Mar Sara’s mining operations. And despite the fact that the SCV was in no way state-of-the-art technology, Mathew still thought it was quite an awesome vehicle with its Hover propulsion system and twin multipurpose robotic arms.

After Mathew performed a few mining cycles and set up a few supply depots with his SCV, the demonstration ended. However the Magistrate and the other officials were not a bit impressed with Mathew’s performance, and hurried to a shuttle to Mar Sara Starport’s fully catered reception.

Mathew took the shuttle back to his mining camp. His working shift for the day was already over by the time he returned. Tired from the day’s work, Mathew retired to the worker’s quarters and soon fell asleep.

“Hey, get up, ya gotta see this.”

Mathew had not slept for 1 hour yet. Being still half asleep, he didn’t quite hear what his co-worker just said. However, what he did notice is there was a loud broadcast on every screen of on the walls of the worker’s quarters and on every PDA.

“...destruction of our sister-world Chau Sara by alien forces has been confirmed. As your new Magistrate, I hereby declare marshal law throughout the entire planet. Confederate military forces have ordered that this colony be locked down immediately, and all colonists are to relocate immediately to the outlying wastelands... ”

To be continued...

I’ll edit and update this post as I write more. I’ll have to redesign my fanfic and where it ends, since the assignment’s recommended 1200 words won’t even take Mathew 1/4 of the way through Episode One.
